The Protoss are a humanoid, spacefaring race. They have advanced technology and a mostly peaceful society, until they become entangled in an interstellar war with the Terrans and the Zerg. They become slowly overwhelmed and finally forced to abandon their homeworld of Auir for a world populated by Protoss outcasts, Shakuras.
History[]
In ancient times, the Protoss were an apelike species with a telepathic bond. A highly-advanced species known as the Xel'Naga took interest in these primitive creatures and helped evolve them into sentient beings.
