Star Trek III: The Search for Spock was the third Star Trek film produced and the third to be set in the original series. It was directed by Leonard Nimoy, and released to the cinemas in the USA on 1 June 1984.[1]


Following the events of Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Kahn, the crew of the USS Enterprise discovers that Spock's katra (the Vulcan soul) is in Doctor McCoy's mind. In order to remove the katra, the crew steals the Enterprise and travels to the Genesis Planet in order to recover Spock's body and return the katra. In the process, Captain Kirk's son is killed and the ship is destroyed to protect it from Klingon capture, The Enterprise's crew then captures the Klingon ship and takes it to Vulcan, where Spock is restored.
