Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country is the sixth Star Trek film produced and the sixth based on the original series. It was directed by William Shatner, and released to the cinemas in the USA on 6 December 1991.[1]


The movie opens with the destruction of the Klingon moon Praxis and the USS Excelsior's discovery of the destruction. Months later, a meeting at Starfleet Headquarters reveals that the USS Enterprise-A was to escort the Chancellor of the Klingon Empire to Earth for peace talks. As the Enterprise carries out its mission, the Klingon flagship is attack and Chancellor Gorkon dies. Captain James Kirk and Doctor Leonard McCoy then beam over to the Klingon ship and are arrested for killing the Chancellor. The pair is then sentenced to life imprisonment on Rura Penthe, but they are rescued from the prison. The Enterprise then confronts the true conspirators who were attempting to halt the peace talks and stops them from derailing the talks.
