The Vaathkree are a mineral-based species that resembel metal or rock, but actually are covered in armor plates. They are known for their devotion to trade and bartering in the Galactic Republic, trade being the basis for their religion, roughly translated as The Deal.
Vaathkree have two life-stages, the first being shapless non-sentient Stonesingers that roam the lava flats of their planet to absorb minerals and form armor plates along their body. At 9, they are one meter tall but still have fluidity and begin to be tought in the ways of The Deal. Upon developing, Stonesingers choose a particular form based on their chosen professions, most forming into Human-sized humanoids. They reach maturity at 20 and have a lifespan of 300 t0 350 standard years.
The Vaathkree developed a two-dimensional artform called "flatsculp". Mid 18th century Pre-Em flatsculp was similar to early Saffa paintings and Paonidd extrassa art. (SW: Heir to the Empire/The Last Command)
