Terran Empire appears in a number of science fiction universes. Most feature a government either ruled by or largely dominated by Earth.

Star Trek[]
In Star Trek, the Terran Empire was the Mirror Universe counterpart of the United Federation of Planets. The Empire was made up mainly of humans known as terrans in this universe with various races subjugated and the only race being nearly equal to them were the Vulcans. Any planets that did not comply with the Empire's wishes were either invaded or destroyed. The Empire possessed a fleet much like the main universes Starfleet known as the Imperial Starfleet. The Empire was eventually succeeded by the Terran Republic and then captured by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance.
Technic History[]
The Technic History includes the Terrain Empire, which lasted into the 31st century.1
