The Alamo was the 13th episode (out of 30) produced and released for The Time Tunnel.
Summary[]
After being transported from an area in 1861 from a failed assassination attempt against Abraham Lincoln with the previous episode, Tony Newman and Doug Phillips remain in the southern United States, being transported a few decades earlier, right before the final battle of the Alamo in Texas, where everyone at the fort will be massacred within several hours.
Phillips and Newman are rescued by Alamo personnel from a brief gun battle (which is several hours before the final attack from the Mexican army is to start) and given shelter in the Alamo at first, but are thought to be troublemakers trying to lower morale by trying to convince officers of the massacre.
Phillips and Newman separate, as Phillips was hit in the head by a Mexican soldier at one point, and Newman jumps a wall and runs for help after being given word of a sympathetic Mexican doctor, as the Alamo is out of medical supplies and personnel.
Meanwhile the crew at Project Tic-Toc is having trouble finding accurate information in regards to the layout of the Alamo in order to try to move Phillips and Newman away from the area before the final battle commences.
Background information[]
- This was the first episode where Phillips tries to convince Newman that warning everyone of their fates isn’t going to change history, as they had tried (unsuccessfully) many times before.
- This was also the first episode where an indication was revealed as to how difficult it is for Project Tic-Toc to pinpoint and move Phillips and Newman to another time period, as they said they only had nine hours to get the two out of there before the battle started.
